Once you have submitted an RFQ through SourceLink, our sourcing team will work to respond as quickly as possible. Response times vary depending on the complexity of your request and the nature of the product being sourced. This article gives you a realistic guide to what to expect.
Simple, commonly available items — typically within 1 business day. If a product is readily available from our supplier network and the specifications are clear, we can usually provide a quote quickly.
Specialist or technical items — typically within 2–3 business days. Items requiring technical verification, import sourcing, or multiple supplier checks may take a little longer.
Highly niche or hard-to-find products — up to 5 business days or more. Some requests require us to contact specialist suppliers, check international availability, or obtain samples before quoting.
Several factors can influence how quickly we are able to respond to your RFQ:
Incomplete information — if your request lacks key details such as a part number, specification, or quantity, we may need to contact you for clarification before we can source accurately. Always provide as much detail as possible when submitting.
Supplier availability — response times depend in part on how quickly our supplier network can confirm stock, pricing, and lead times.
International sourcing — if an item needs to be sourced from outside the UK, additional time may be needed for availability checks, import logistics, and lead time confirmation.
High volume of requests — during busy periods, response times may be slightly longer than usual. We will always aim to acknowledge receipt promptly.
If your requirement is time-critical, please include your required delivery date and mark your request as urgent in the RFQ form. Our team will prioritise urgent requests where possible. Where a deadline cannot be met, we will advise you immediately so you can make alternative arrangements.
