How Community Accounts Work

The Trade Guy Community is a Q&A and discussion platform for tradespeople, DIYers, and industry professionals across the UK. A community account gives you access to ask questions, share knowledge, join discussions, and connect with others working in the trade. This article explains how community accounts work and what you can do with one.

Creating a Community Account

To join the Trade Guy Community, register for a free account at the Trade Guy Community platform. You will need to provide a username, email address, and password. Your username is how other members will identify you in discussions — choose something professional that represents you or your trade.

What You Can Do with a Community Account

Once registered and logged in, your community account gives you access to:

Community Account vs Store Account

Your Trade Guy Community account is separate from any Sitex Direct or Power-Hub store account you may have. Logging into the community does not log you into the store, and vice versa. If you wish to use both platforms, you will need accounts on each. In the future, single sign-on integration across the Sitex ecosystem may be introduced.

Community Rules

All community members are expected to follow the Trade Guy Community rules and posting guidelines. These are in place to keep the community helpful, respectful, and professional. Accounts that repeatedly violate the community guidelines may be suspended or removed. See Community Rules and Posting Guidelines for the full list of expectations.

Keeping Your Account Up to Date

Keep your profile information current — including your trade, location, and contact preferences. Accurate profiles help other members understand your background and make the community more useful for everyone. You can update your profile and notification settings at any time from your account settings page.
