Trade Credit Overview

Trade credit allows approved business customers to purchase from Sitex Direct and place orders on account, paying within agreed terms rather than at the point of checkout. This article explains how trade credit works, who it is available to, and how to apply.

What Is Trade Credit?

Trade credit is a payment arrangement that allows businesses to receive goods immediately and pay for them within an agreed timeframe — typically 30 days from invoice date. Rather than paying by card at checkout, approved trade credit customers are invoiced and settle their balance at the end of the payment period.

Who Is Trade Credit Available To?

Trade credit is available to approved business customers with a registered trade account on Sitex Direct. It is not available to retail or guest customers. To be eligible, your business must complete a trade account application and pass a credit assessment. Credit limits and payment terms are set individually and may vary depending on your business's trading history and requirements.

How to Apply

To apply for a trade credit account, submit a trade account application via Sitex Direct. Our accounts team will review your application and may request supporting information such as company registration details, trading references, or bank details. You will be notified of the outcome by email. If approved, your credit limit and payment terms will be confirmed in writing.

Credit Limits

Each approved trade credit customer is assigned a credit limit — the maximum outstanding balance you can carry at any one time. Orders that would exceed your credit limit cannot be placed on account and will need to be paid by card at checkout. Credit limits are reviewed periodically and can be increased upon request, subject to assessment.

Payment Terms

Standard payment terms for Sitex Direct trade credit accounts are net 30 days from the invoice date. Invoices are issued automatically when orders are dispatched. Payment can be made by bank transfer, cheque, or other agreed method. Late payment may result in suspension of trade credit facilities.
